Graduate School Student

Claire is a second-year PhD student in the English department who also works in the areas of French and Medieval Studies. Broadly, her research focuses on the ways that medieval French and English writers conceptualize race and sexuality, especially in drama, romance, and religious treatises depicting Muslim women and children. While primarily researching medieval literature, she is interested in thinking about ways to take meaningful and ethical approaches to the histories of race, sexuality, and medicine across periods.
