Congratulations! Albert Laguna is the recipient of the 2020 LARR-Pitt Best Article Award for his article “Before the Thaw: The Transnational Routes of Cuban Popular Culture” published in LARR Volume 54 (1). The award committee was chaired by Mónica Espinosa Arango (chair), Universidad de los Andes; Caitlin Bruce, University of Pittsburgh; and Matias Dewey, Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies.

The LARR-Pitt Best Article Award is presented at each LASA International Congress to the best research article published by the Latin American Research Review (LARR) during the past calendar year. The award covers articles published by LARR in all disciplines and in any language.
