In 2022, the program for Ethnicity, Race & Migration successfully launched its graduate certificate with 10 admitted students from across the FAS. In 2023, another group of 10 students joined cohort 2.
ER&M is a fast-growing undergraduate program that provides a framework for interdisciplinary inquiry related to global race formations, indigeneity, human mobility, culture, and politics.
The graduate certificate provides graduate-level coursework, taught by ER&M affiliate faculty, in the interdisciplinary and comparative study of race, transnational migration, and indigeneity within a global framework, and certifies students who complete the program to improve their chances of obtaining post-degree employment in related fields.
We are particularly interested in applications from students whose work crosses borders between nations, communities, languages, and disciplines. The certificate is open to students already admitted to any of the PhD programs within the Arts and Sciences. Applications will open October 11 and close November 15.
Detailed information about the application process can be found here.
