Community Service Administration (CSA)

The Community Services Administration (CSA) is a department of city government firmly
committed to addressing the health and well being of all New Haven residents.

Encompassing the Youth Services Department, Elderly Services Department, the Health Department and the State-Administered General Assistance (SAGA Support),CSA is the health and social service arm of City Hall, dedicated to creating opportunities for all residents to thrive in our vibrant city.

The CSA invites students to work with the Prison Re-entry Program and the Elm City ID
program.

The Prison Re-entry Program serves former incarcerated persons, assisting them in obtaining services, employment, and housing on their release. The program also advocates for the rights of the ex-incarcerated and works to create shared policy for reintegrating former prisoners in the Greater New Haven area.

The Elm City ID program provides a local identification card for residents of New Haven, which serves to assist those without alternative forms of ID (drivers’ licenses, passports), in obtaining bank accounts, city services, and for transactions in the city. The program is seeking students to assist in promoting the program and researching its use and effectiveness.
